What a ride! Across the universe and beyond, to who knows where. Really, and what a blast of exceptionally unique style. The author’s writing exploited the English language! His use of clever vocabulary was masterfully descriptive—and hilarious. His novel packs a wallop with long chapters and short ones, super-duper long sentences and micro-mini ones. I couldn’t guess WHAT was around the next corner. There’s other worlds, messed-up civilizations, even planet Moron! No shortage of unexpected events here.
Travel faster than light as a gas, in milky liquids on the way to trial, or as a regular guy while tending sheep that were once the leaders of the world. YES! Venture with Perry Gambles, the main character, and his new and omnipotent friend, Ralphgorn. And along the way Perry meets new friends, sexy physics teachers from his past, three-eyed aliens, and others who are deemed unworthy, marked for termination. And en voyage, Perry finds… LOVE. Not once, not just twice… Quite fortuitously too!
Love in the Time of Apocalypse, by author T. E. Mark, was a blast of a story I won’t soon forget. I mean, what’s not to love with one of the most colorful and sarcastic, mocking and witty, clever and ludicrous and all-out hilarious sci-fi adventures in the universe. Just what I needed. Surely, one of the most unpredictable and entertaining books I have ever read.
